LHC welcomes delegation from Cabo Verde
LHC was pleased to host a delegation from Cabo Verde during the week of March 11th to 15th, 2024. This provided an opportunity not only to showcase its own training programs and services but also to outline the measures taken by the Luxembourgish government to safeguard its economy and citizens in the cyberspace.
The program started with introductory remarks delivered by Pascal Steichen, CEO of LHC, Her Excellency Edna Monteiro, the Ambassador of Cabo Verde to Luxembourg, Geneviève Hengen, Deputy Director for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, as well as Director for Bilateral Development Cooperation at the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defense, Cooperation, and Foreign Trade, and Manuel Tonnar, Director General at LuxDev."
H. E. Edna Monteiro underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing cybersecurity concerns during her speech. She commended the dedication of the governments of Cabo Verde and Luxembourg to jointly enhance the security of their nations.The next day, the delegation had the opportunity to participate in the cyberattack simulation exercise, ROOM#42, and also underwent training aimed at strengthening their cybersecurity capabilities. “I am grateful for the invaluable lessons learned and the collaborative spirit that emerged. I feel ready to apply these insights and elevate our cyber resilience to new heights!” says a participant about the experience.
In the subsequent days, the delegation was introduced to various initiatives and organizations, including BEE SECURE, aimed at enhancing cybersecurity awareness among the general public in Luxembourg; different healthcare projects within the framework of eHealth DSP, Healthnet, and risk management; the ILR (Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation); the CTIE (Centre des technologies de l’information de l’État), which oversees IT services for Luxembourg’s government, ministries, and public administrations; and LU-CIX, the national internet exchange point."
