The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) kicked off TRANSCEND, a European Commission-funded project, on 14 January 2025 in the presence of Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education, and Anne Calteux, Head of Representation, European Commission. The project focuses on enhancing the resilience of freight transport networks against both cyber and non-cyber threats.
The ILR together with the LHC/NC3 conducted another national exercise simulating a cybersecurity crisis targeting the Luxembourg health sector.In November 2024, during an entire day, actors from the health sector got to experience a national cyber crisis. In a scenario involving a national pandemic, the preparedness and reactivity of each participating health actor were put to the test.
The Prime Minister Luc Frieden, together with the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity Elisabeth Margue, visited the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity on 14 November 2024, as cybersecurity is a key topic for the government and the economy, and whilst the National Strategy on Cybersecurity V is under preparation.
After the last key notes and workshops of the day were held, hack.lu gave way for the annual Gala & Awards Night. Jim Kent led all the guests (hack.lu and external) and most importantly the nominees for the 5 awards, “Best Paper at hack.lu”, “Most Promising Young Talent”, “Cybersecurity Startup”, “DPO of the Year” and “CISO of the Year” through a wonderful evening that included drinks, games and live music.
TeamLU fought once again in the ECSC, which this year was held in Turin, Italy in its 9th edition.The ECSC - European Cybersecurity Challenge is an initiative by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and aims at enhancing cybersecurity talent across Europe and connecting high potentials with industry leading organizations.
Au Luxembourg, les initiatives de développement de l’écosystème «cybersécurité» s’envisagent dans une démarche de défense des intérêts économiques nationaux. L’un des défis, aujourd’hui, est d’accompagner les PME face à la menace, en soutenant la mise en œuvre de mesures adaptées et en facilitant l’accès aux solutions de sécurité abordables.
Le ministère de l'Économie, conjointement avec le National Cybersecurity Competence Center (NC3) et avec la collaboration de Luxinnovation, annonce le lancement prochain du second appel à projets du programme de financement Cybersecurity Innovation and Development (LU-CID Funding Programme) visant à co-financer la création d'outils, solutions et services innovants par les start-up et PME de l'écosystème luxembourgeois de la cybersécurité.
