SecDevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity g.i.e. established in 2010 under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy, in partnership with SIGI and SYVICOL is strengthening its high performing team.

We are currently seeking a SecDevOps Engineer (m/f/d), on a full-time, permanent contract basis to join our team.

Mission and role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Secure Application Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain applications with integrated security measures, ensuring alignment with departmental activities.
  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain and support IT infrastructure, emphasizing security best practices and compliance with industry standards.
  • Process Automation: Develop and implement automation tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions in deployment and operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business users to understand requirements, provide support, and translate needs into secure development solutions.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Enhancement: Contribute to the setup and improvement of development tools and infrastructure, focusing on automating and securing development and release processes.
  • Incident Response: Participate in incident handling related systems, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest technologies, tools, and trends in software, contributing to knowledge shared within the team.

Profile and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more programming languages, with a strong focus on Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Software Development: Solid understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, and principles.
  • Frameworks and Libraries: Experience with front-end and back-end development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Laravel, Laminas, Django, Flask, or similar).
  • Databases: Strong familiarity with database systems, including both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, GraphDB).
  • Automation and CI/CD: Experience in automating deployment processes using Ansible and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Operating Systems and Scripting: Proficiency in Unix-like environments, with strong skills in shell scripting and system configuration.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of networking principles and virtualization platforms (e.g., Proxmox, VMware), including its security practices.
  • Security Mindset: Demonstrated “security-first” approach, integrating security into all aspects of DevOps practices to safeguard against cybersecurity threats.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open-Source Commitment: Demonstrated experience with open-source technologies and active participation in open-source communities, reflecting our organization’s dedication to open collaboration and transparency.

Considered as an Advantage

  • Secure Software Development Lifecycle: Good understanding of a secure development lifecycle.
  • DevOps and Linux: Experience with DevOps implementation and Linux server configuration.
  • Security Testing: Experience in application security testing and automation testing.
  • Containerization: Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and vagrant.
  • Security Certifications: Certifications like Certified SecDevOps Practioner (CSDOP), CISSSP, or CISM are advantageous but not mandatory.
